Masktäthet
Gauge
Masktätheten avgör om plagget får rätt storlek. Sticka en provlapp och mät den innan du börjar.
Gauge decides whether the garment comes out the right size. Knit a swatch and measure it before you start.
- Lägg upp ungefär 10 cm fler maskor än du tror behövs och sticka 12–15 cm i mönstret du ska använda.
- Tvätta och torka lappen på samma sätt som det färdiga plagget.
- Lägg den platt och räkna maskorna över 10 cm, en bit in från kanterna. Gör likadant för varven.
- Fler maskor än garnets etikett? Byt till grövre stickor. Färre? Byt till tunnare.
- Cast on enough stitches for about 10 cm more than you need and knit 12–15 cm in the stitch pattern you'll be using.
- Wash and dry the swatch the same way as the finished garment.
- Lay it flat and count the stitches over 10 cm, away from the edges. Do the same for the rows.
- More stitches than the yarn label? Go up a needle size. Fewer? Go down a size.
